A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. This page explains which ones theverge.pk uses.
Categories we use
- Strictly necessary — needed for the site to load and display correctly, including caching and security. These cannot be switched off.
- Preferences — remember choices such as light or dark reading mode.
- Analytics — tell us, in aggregate, which articles are read. We do not use them to identify you personally.
- Advertising — set by advertising partners, including Google, to measure and in some cases personalise the ads you see.
Third parties
Advertising and analytics partners may set their own cookies. We do not control those cookies. Google’s use of advertising cookies is described in its advertising policies, and you can opt out of personalised ads in Google Ads Settings.
Controlling cookies
Every major browser lets you see, block and delete cookies. Blocking analytics and advertising cookies will not stop you reading the site. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of it.
